A. Der Ritterhof is the German translation for “The Knight House.”
A. The 24 feet tall armored Knight made of galvanized steel was created by Yakima artist Primo Villalobos to act as a tourist attraction for the inn more than two decades ago. Appropriately, a Knight was chosen to play the part because “Der Ritterhof” is the German translation for “The Knight House” affectionally, also known as “The Big Guy” people love him and want pictures with them standing by him. He is always available for a selfie or two. He is also the unofficial guardian of the Bavarian village of Leavenworth.
A. We are less than two blocks from downtown Leavenworth. You can simply leave your car at the hotel and avoid parking hassle as everything in downtown Leavenworth is within short walking distance.
A. Coming from Seattle area on Highway 2 East: as you enter Leavenworth, the Der Ritterhof will be on your left just before the downtown area. Coming from Seattle area on Interstate I-90: Take I-90 East, take exit 85 from I-90 East, Follow WA-970 and highway US-97 to US Highway 2 West, Der Ritterhof Inn will be on your right just past the downtown area.
A. Our front desk office is open from 7 am to 11 pm.
A. Check-in time starts at 4 PM.
A. Guests are free to arrive anytime on the day of arrival. If a room is available front desk is happy to check you in. Please note that check-in before 4 pm is solely based on room availability and is not guaranteed.

A. Late check-outs are granted based on availability. If you require a later check-out, please get in touch with the Front Desk before the day of your departure, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply for late check-out.
A. You may book a reservation and check up-to-date rates online on this website by clicking “BOOK NOW,” or call us directly at 509-548-5845 for personalized service. Reservation cannot be made via email.
A. Non- Hotel 3rd Party( Expedia,, etc.) online website bookings: you would need to call the booking source directly to cancel your reservation. Hotel Direct Bookings: To cancel a reservation that was booked on our website or by phone with our hotel staff Please call 509-548-5845 to cancel your reservation. We do not accept cancellations via emails.
A. If you have tested positive for Covid-19 and would like to cancel, please call us soon as possible. If you are within the cancellation penalty period, we REQUIRE visual evidence of Covid positive test taken within 14 days before the scheduled arrival date to waive the penalty. No visual proof is required if you are out of the penalty period.
A. Reservations are guaranteed until 12:00 am on your arrival date. If you be will arriving after this time please contact the hotel at 509-548-5845 to request late arrival.
A. In this situation, you would have to contact the customer service department of the online travel website you used to make your reservation.
A. All hotel bookings are subject to taxes, including the Leavenworth lodging tax of 3% and the state tax of 8.5% for a total tax rate of 11.5%. Please note: taxes are subject to change.
A. American Express, VISA, Master Card, and Discover card. We gladly accept cash with a cash deposit of $250 in addition to the room total. The cash deposit will be refunded upon check-out after a room inspection.
A. No, we do not accept checks, pre-paid credit cards or gift cards at the Der Ritterhof Inn.
A. Yes, you may pay for another guest's room with your credit card. Please call us at 509-548-5845 and we will fax or email you DER RITTERHOF INN’s Credit Card Authorization Form, fill the form, sign it and fax it 509-548-1326(Fax). We require customers to submit this form for their own credit card protection before the arrival date. Please note that we will not accept a 3rd party credit card payment without the completed authorization form.
A. Credit card authorization forms are used if the guest holding the reservation is not paying for the room. For a third-party individual to pay for a room, he or she must complete the Der Ritterhof Credit Card Authorization Form, sign it and fax it to 509-548-1326(Fax). This form gives us permission to charge your credit card if you are paying for a room for someone else to stay at the Der Ritterhof Inn.
A. Unfortunately, you can't. In the interest of protecting your personal credit card information, we can only accept the Der Ritterhof Credit Card Authorization Form via fax. Sending credit card information by email is not a secure method of transmission.
A. Yes, the hotel requires a $ 100 deposit on the credit card for all the pre-paid reservations booked on 3rd party online travel sites. If a credit card is not available, then we will also accept a refundable cash deposit of $250 for such reservations.
A. The incidental deposit is released on the day of your departure. Your bank will then need to post the transaction to your account. We will not be responsible for any delay caused by your bank in posting the transaction.
A. At check-in, we authorize your entire stay’s room and tax charges plus any deposit if applicable.
A. It really depends on the season. However, holidays, Festival weekends and summer months are always in high demand. In general, the earlier you book, the lower the room rate. A. We serve a complimentary breakfast buffet for guests staying at the Der Ritterhof Inn. We do not have a restaurant or lounge on-site. Leavenworth has many fine dining options located within walking distance, we maintain a current directory of menus, inquire at Front Desk.
A. A complimentary breakfast is included in the room rate and is offered daily from 7:00 am- 9:30 am in the Lobby area.
A. No, all the guest rooms are 100% smoke-free, including balconies and patio areas. A $ 250 cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates the smoking policy. Guests may smoke outside in designated smoking areas.
A. The Der Ritterhof Inn does not have safes in guestrooms.
A. The hotel provides a small Refrigerator along with a single cup Keurig coffee maker. Complimentary Coffee pods are provided. Microwaves are available on request only at the time of check-in and are subject to availability.

A. Yes, we have free Wireless internet access available throughout the hotel. Log-in information will be provided upon check-In.
A. Yes, we do have a seasonal outdoor heated pool with panoramic views of the Cascade mountains. The pool hours are 9 am-9 pm daily. We usually open the pool by the end of May for the summer season and close it by the end of September. Please note that the opening and closing of the seasonal pool are weather dependent, and we may move the dates up or down depending on the weather conditions. A. Yes, we offer free onsite parking to our registered guests at the Der Ritterhof Inn. Typically, one vehicle per room.

A. The Der Ritterhof Inn has various cancellation periods dependent on many factors. Please inquire when making your reservation about your specific cancellation policy and to see if any deposit is required. Our standard cancellation policy is 72 hours prior to arrival by 4pm local time and for the festival weekends the cancellation policy is 14 days prior to arrival.

A. Sorry, we do not have an elevator. The hotel has two floors and second room floor rooms are accessed by exterior stairs. If stairs are an issue than we highly recommend that you request a room on the ground floor by calling us directly at 509-548-5845 prior to your arrival and we will gladly assign you a room on the ground floor based on room availability.
A. yes, our second-floor rooms all have shared balconies with mountain views. and first floor rooms have access to the patio via the sliding doors.
A. Yes, we do have fully equipped Kitchenette suites,, which are ideal for large families. Please note that we only have few kitchenette suites and they are always in high demand, so we highly recommend booking these suites well in advance to your anticipated arrival date.
A. Yes, we have some connecting rooms at the hotel. You may make a request for connecting rooms by calling the hotel directly at 509-548-5845 or toll-free at 1-800-548-5845; however, they are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
A. We have a limited number of accessible rooms. Please note that our accessible rooms do NOT have a roll-in shower or bathtub. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our accessible rooms.
A. There is no refund for early departure reservations that require 2-night minimum stay during peak weekends and festivals. For other reservations, there is no early departure fee.
A. Yes, we are a dog-friendly hotel. CATS AND BIRDS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Dogs are welcome at the hotel for a $20 per dog per night fee. There are no restrictions on weight, height, or type. Please note that dogs cannot be left unattended at the hotel. Plan to stay with your dog at all times. Dogs must be leashed at all times while outside of your room. Please call reservations at 509-548-5845 or toll-free at 1-800-255-5845 and let them know you’ll bring your dog so a dog-friendly room can be assigned. Please note that if you fail to declare the pet or if a pet is found in a non-dog-friendly room, a fee of $250 will be charged to the room.
A. No, Dogs are allowed ONLY in designated dog-friendly rooms and must be declared when making reservations and upon checking in on the day of arrival. We strongly encourage making advance reservations if you travel with a dog. Please note that if you fail to declare the dog or if a dog is found in a non-dog-friendly room, $250 will be charged to the room.
A. Unlike other hotels in Leavenworth, we have a large grassy area on site for your pet(s).
A. All of our guestrooms feature bathtubs. We do not have a room with showers.
A. The hotel has two floors, and the second floor is accessed via a staircase. If you cannot climb stairs, we strongly recommend contacting the hotel directly to see if a room on the ground floor is available.

A. No. You cannot split charges with other people if you are paying with credit or debit cards. Only one credit or debit card can be used per room transaction. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
A. Yes, we do have a limited number of rollaway beds and cribs. A rollaway bed can be rented for a fee of $20 per stay. Cribs are also available and are free of charge. Please note that cribs and rollaway beds are subject to availability on the day of arrival and cannot be reserved and will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
