Question: What’s better than a holiday festival in the middle of a winter wonderland?

Answer: THREE holiday festivals in the middle of a winter wonderland.

The quaint Bavarian-style village of Leavenworth, Washington, just can’t get enough of the holiday spirit. That’s why the destination is celebrating three holiday festivals over the coming weeks. Here’s the lowdown…

Holiday Festival #1: Grand Christmas Festival
When? December 1 – 3, 8 – 10 and 15 – 17
During Christmas the Lighting Festival the village is transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland some 500,000 Christmas lights. It’s a sight to behold and there’s plenty of live music to enjoy and a special visit from the big man himself, Santa Claus.

Holiday Festival #2: Bavarian Ice Festival
When? January 13-14
Check out the wonderful snow sculptures, sled pulls, live ice-carving demonstrations and the only annual firework show in Leavenworth. And, as the village’s 500,000 lights will be twinkling until Valentine’s Day, this is a particularly pretty time to visit Leavenworth.

Holiday Festival #3: Timbrrr! Music Festival
When? January 26-27
The Timbrrr! Music Festival. Created as the winter counterpart to the very successful Timber! Outdoor Music Festival, Timbrrr! Serves up a full two days and nights of music and wintertime fun. Check out performances by Ra Ra Riot, Cave Singers and Hobosexual.

Looking for a traditional Bavarian-style accommodation in Leavenworth? You can’t go wrong with the Der Ritterhoff Inn. Located just two blocks from the Bavarian village center, “Der Ritterhof” literally means “The Knight House,” which makes the 25-foot-tall knight that stands outside the hotel the perfect symbol for this charming Bavarian-style hotel. The spacious rooms offer the best in-room amenities including high speed Wi-Fi, a 32” flat screen TV, mini-fridge and a Keurig coffee maker with coffee. Ground floor rooms feature patios, while the second floor rooms feature vaulted ceilings and balconies where you can soak up amazing alpine views.
