COVID-19 UPDATE

Check out the fall festivals and events in Leavenworth

Summer may still be in full swing, but if you’re planning a getaway for the coming months, shift your focus to fall and all the wonderful activities it offers! Fall in Leavenworth is always a favorite, with lots of things to do and exciting events filling the calendar. If you’re planning your fall getaway now, check out these upcoming festivals to add to your itinerary:

Wenatchee River Salmon Festival | September 21

The annual Wenatchee River Salmon Festival celebrates the return of the salmon to the Northwest rivers. The festival takes place at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, where you can learn about the importance of the salmon to the Pacific Northwest and its historic, cultural, and ecological significance. The theme for this year’s salmon festival is “Catch the Salmon Fest Fever!”. This family-friendly event will feature lots of interactive activities and “edutainment” - the perfect mix of education and entertainment highlighting the wonders of nature and our local area.

Autumn Leaf Festival | September 27-29

The annual Autumn Leaf Festival is Leavenworth’s longest-running event. Founded in 1964, this festival celebrates the beauty of fall and the turning color of the leaves. This much-beloved event includes a parade on Saturday, September 28, plus lots of craft vendors, local food and baked goods stalls, kids’ activities, and much more.  It’s the perfect way to kick off the beautiful fall season!

Oktoberfest | October 4-5, 11-12, 18-19

If you haven’t been to Leavenworth before, you might not know that our whole town has a Bavarian theme! So if you want to experience an authentic Oktoberfest without buying a plane ticket to Europe, make sure to plan a visit to Leavenworth this October. Oktoberfest runs over three weekends (4th and 5th, 11th and 12th, and 18th and 19th), so there are plenty of opportunities to check out the festivities. There will be lots of live entertainment, food, and of course beer. And while beer is, of course, a traditional part of Oktoberfest, these events are fun for the whole family. Bring the kids along for lots of fun activities and entertainment, including the Bavarian tradition of the Keg Tapping Ceremony each Saturday at 1 pm.

There are so many fun events and celebrations coming up in Leavenworth, so be sure to book your trip soon! Der Ritterhof Inn is ideally located just two blocks away from the Bavarian Village Center, so we’re the perfect place to stay if you want to be right in the action and truly get a feel for Leavenworth.
