Washington’s Leavenworth is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise – but sometimes it’s nice to stay indoors, and enjoy the warmth of good company and even better drink. Check out these astoundingly excellent breweries and distilleries in Leavenworth to take a load off – or reward yourself for a morning of skiing! Either way, you’re going to have a great time.

Located on Leavenworth’s Front Street, Icicle Brewing is a local favorite and a great place for tourists. They’re as local as local can be:

“The water for our beer comes from Icicle Creek which flows into the Wenatchee River less than a mile from the brewery. The bulk of the malted barley comes from a maltster in Vancouver, Washington. Our hops arrive from the Yakima Valley where owner Oliver Brulotte was born and raised. Finally, we get our yeast from a laboratory located in the Columbia River Gorge.”

Those sources make for incredible brews. From their Bottlejack IPA to the Crosscut Pilsner, you’ll find something you love.

The art of distilling is as subtle and complex as the flavours in a glass of bourbon whiskey. It’s 5 have become a Washington institution, producing world-class liquors using local ingredients. In this way, they capture the natural beauty of Washington state in their award-winning products. Bourbon, whiskey, gin, brandy, grappa, assorted liqueurs… you name it, It’s 5 makes it with a local twist. They’re well worth the short drive from Leavenworth to nearby Cashmere, but we recommend you decide on the designated driver BEFORE you leave. Or better yet, take a cab!

They’re not the largest brewery in the world – heck, they’re not even the largest brewery in Leavenworth – but Doghaus Brewing have got a lot of heart, some great tastes, and a key advantage: your furry friends. This pet-friendly microbrewery pub lets you bring in your furry friends, so you can enjoy their fine ales in the best of company.
